One of the most fascinating monuments you will find in America is the Georgia Guidestones located in Elbert County, GA. Over the years the stones have been described as many things- from the ten commandments of the Anti-Christ to a call for an age of reason. The mystery surrounding the Guidestones covers almost every aspect of the Guidestones itself, and makes even an anti-conspiracist’s head race with theories.
I was going to write a long in depth article, but while researching I found that Wired had covered it in its entirety. You can view it here. The article itself is flawless so I chose not to compete with it, so I will instead highlight the main things about the Guidestones that stand out.
1. The Georgia Guidestones features 12 different languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, Babylonian Cuneiform, and Egyptian Hieroglyphics.
2. It was commissioned in 1979, by R.C. Christian, who admitted that his name was a pseudonym and that he preferred to remain anonymous.
3. The Guidestones stand just under 20 feet tall, and are made from six solid granite slabs that together weigh more than 240,000 pounds.
4. The Guidestones function as a Clock, Calendar, and Compass.
5. The Guidestones are aligned in complex astrological specifications, and track the sun’s east to west motion.
6. The Guidestones were designed to withstand catastrophic events, and are ironically in sync with many of the future maps, (See Future Maps Tab & Video Below) – Also most agree that the Guidestones were designed to serve survivors of an apocalypse as they attempt to recreate civilization.
7. The land that the Georgia Guidestones sits on is county land, sold by R.C. Christian to the county in October of 1979, before the construction was completed.
8. The most unsettling of the Guidestones ‘Commandments’: MAINTAIN HUMANITY UNDER 500,000,000 IN PERPETUAL BALANCE WITH NATURE – a 6.5 billion reduction from current population statistics.
9. R.C. Christian communicated with the builders mostly by mail, never sending anything from the same place twice.
10. The Guidestones also feature a time capsule that has yet to be filled.
Regardless of personal opinions and beliefs, the Georgia Guidestones are just as permanent as the pyramids in Egypt and the ruins in Mexico. They will forever remain a part of what our current American society leaves behind. But how are we supposed to take the message that this leaves behind?
